About the Foundation
In 1998, Royal LePage made a unanimous decision: their charitable efforts would go toward helping women and children find safety from domestic abuse. That decision created the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation — and it's been changing lives ever since.
The Foundation is Canada's largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding women's shelters and violence prevention programs. Royal LePage covers all administrative costs, meaning every dollar donated goes directly to the cause — local women's shelters and national partners working to end domestic violence.
Through commission donations, local fundraising events, and volunteer time, Royal LePage agents across Canada raise money that stays in their own communities — funding the shelters that serve their neighbours. Here in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, agents Karen Pomeroy and Roberta Primmer (The Dynamic Duo) have been leading this charge for nearly two decades.
On any given day, an estimated 3,000 women and 2,500 children are living in an emergency shelter to escape domestic violence.
There are 450+ shelters across Canada — but funding is always an obstacle. Your real estate transaction helps keep them open.
Beyond emergency shelters, the Foundation funds violence prevention and teen healthy relationship programs through partnerships with the Canadian Women's Foundation and other national organizations.

Royal LePage Turner Realty
Announced at the Royal LePage National Kick Off on January 31, 2025, this award recognizes Royal LePage Turner Realty's sustained commitment to the Foundation — through commission donations, local fundraising, and years of consistent support for the cause. The formal presentation took place at the Royal LePage National Leadership Conference and the National Sales Conference.
"Thank you again for all you do for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. We hope that in some small way, this award makes you feel pride in your efforts and adequately reflects our gratitude for your support." — Lisa Gibbs, MPNL, Executive Director, Royal LePage Shelter Foundation
Happy Valley-Goose Bay Community
Our agents donate a portion of their commissions to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation with every transaction — whether buying or selling. This ongoing commitment means that every real estate transaction directly supports women and children in need. When you choose Turner Realty, you're helping someone find safety.
Karen Pomeroy and Roberta Primmer organize the annual Royal Masquerade Ball, bringing Happy Valley–Goose Bay together for an evening of community, celebration, and giving. Over four events, the ball has raised more than $35,000 — with 100% of proceeds going directly to Libra House. The event continued even after the 2018 fire that destroyed the original facility, raising critical funds during the rebuilding effort.
Every December, all Turner Realty offices participate in the 12 Business Days of Christmas — an annual donation drive collecting gifts, essentials, and contributions for local shelters. In Happy Valley–Goose Bay, all donations support Libra House. In Gander, they go to Cara Transition House. This brokerage-wide initiative ensures both communities receive support during the holiday season.
Beyond our signature events, our team supports causes across Labrador through charity drives, community sponsorships, and volunteer work. We believe in giving back to the communities that trust us with their real estate needs.
