RCMP Relocation
Karen Pomeroy and Roberta Primmer—the Dynamic Duo—understand the relocation process and are ready to help you find the right home across Labrador.
Happy Valley-Goose Bay is the hub for RCMP operations in central and coastal Labrador. Members posted to the following detachments typically live in or near HVGB:
The largest detachment in the region. Most members live within town, with easy access to schools, amenities, and the base.
Members serving Nain, Hopedale, Makkovik, and other coastal communities often maintain a home base in HVGB for family stability.
Adjacent to Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Members posted here typically live in HVGB, just minutes away.
The HVGB market offers a mix of older homes and some newer builds. Prices are generally more affordable than St. John's. Inventory can be tight, so connecting with us early in your posting process is recommended.
Happy Valley-Goose Bay has schools (English and French), a hospital, recreation facilities, organized sports, and a strong sense of community. Many RCMP families find the close-knit atmosphere a welcome change from larger centres.
Long winters with reliable snow — great for snowmobiling and outdoor activities. Summers are short but beautiful, with extended daylight and excellent fishing, hiking, and boating opportunities.
Karen and Roberta have helped RCMP families from across Canada settle in Labrador. The Dynamic Duo know the process, the market, and the community inside-out.
